Cable Percussive Record
The Daily Cable Percussion Record is broken into multiple sections. On the left, the first section is 'Soil Description'. You can add a new record by clicking the + icon at the top or within the orange box. This launches the input window. You can also click on any row to edit an existing entry.
Other features on the left hand side are Groundwater entries, Water Added, Trialpit/Chiselling, Casing Records, Backfill/Standpipe Details and finally Comments/Standing Time/Dayworks
On the right hand side, you add entries for Sampling & Testing. Add a new entry by clicking the + icon or within the orange box and you can also click on any row edit an existing entry. When required, Drillit Logs automatically assigns a label to a sample and a label icon will appear alongside the entry. You can click on this icon to view the individual label if required!
Beneath the Sample Entries are the Totals for the completed Borehole andalso included on the record are the Plant and Personnel details
Control Panel
When you click on 'Control Panel' icon at the top of the page (or in the main menu) you will be presented with the borehole control panel. Here you can select which borehole you wish to work on!
Select the correct hole, name it (for example 'bh001') and click update. If you click on 'already opened boreholes' this will present you with a window with a shortcut to each borehole that is registered in the system!
Select the correct sheet that you want to work on and enter the date. A calendar will give you an easy way to enter any date or 'todays date' at a click of a button. There are 5 sheets per borehole which can be spread over multiple days or multiple sheets per day (if many samples and tests are required)
By clicking on the 'Labels' tab, you can control how the labels are numbered. You can also set the defaults for label printing.
Soil Descriptions
Launch the soil description input box by clicking on the (+) sign or on the actual record. You will first be prompted for start and end depth for the soil description. Click 'Update'
Select the 'Main Composition' of the soil type
You are then presented with the MAIN soil description screen. Each 'soil type' is broken down into its descriptive elements in accordance with British Standards 5930, in this case CHALK. Cycle through each section by clicking the top buttons.
1. Select colour and click next.
2. Select density. Select multiple to create a range.
3. Select secondary constituents
4. Select gravel composition and matrix colour and click next.
5. Add any minor constituents
6. Photos - By clicking on the camera icon, you can add a photo as a part of the description.
7. The completed soil description (in accordance with BS9530)
Groundwater
When you click on 'groundwater' you will be presented with the groundwater window.
Click on the first box 'time' to begin the entry process. Select the hour on the clockface and then select the minutes and 'update'
Enter the depth of the water strike and 'update'
You will then be prompted for each required entry. You can cancel the process by clicking the 'X' button
Click the 'Update' button the the main window to enter the record onto the sheet
Water Added
When you click on 'Water Added' you will be presented with the water added window. Click 'From' to begin the input process.
Input the depth water was added from. You will then be guided through the rest of the input process
Trialpit/Chiselling
When you click on 'Trialpit' you will be presented with the trialpit window. Click on #1 'From(m)' to begin the input process. You will then be prompted for the 'To' depth and the time. You can cancel the process by clicking the X button at any time
Casing Records
When you click on 'Casing Record' you will be presented with the casing record window. Click 'Size' to begin the input process.
Select the correct casing size and update. You will then be guided th
rough the rest of the input process
Backfill & Installation Details
When you click on 'Backfill/Standpipe' you will be presented with the backfill/standpipe installation window.
You can enter up to 2 installations. Enter the length of the solid and slotted pipes for either. Then select the 'backfill' style. There are multiple styles to choose from. Enter the amounts of gravel and bentonite used in the backfill process.
Finally, click on 'cover' to select the cover type used. You can also click the checkbox to denote whether a methane tap was installed. Click 'Update' to enter the record!
Comments, Standing Time & Dayworks
When you click on 'Comments' you will be presented with the Comments, Standing Time & Dayworks window.
You can add the different types of comment here. For example, when you click on Standing Time, you will first be presented with the time entry clock. Select the hour and then the minutes of the event and update.
Now enter the amount of spent 'waiting' and finally the 'reason'. There are 8 general keyword buttons and an 'other comment' button. By clicking this, you will be presented with the keyboard to type in your reason.
Click the 'Update' button the the main window to enter the record onto the list. You can highlight a record to delete if required. Youcan also use this window to add a photo with description.
Click the 'Update' button the the main window to enter the record onto the sheet.
Sampling & Testing
When you click on 'add' you will be presented with the Sample Type window. To add a sample click, for example, 'D' for disturbed sample
You will then be prompted to enter the start and end depth for the sample. You can click 'ground level' for ground level
You can now add the casing depth and water level if required.
When you click 'update' you will be prompted as to whether you want to print the label. You can also select how many copies of the label you wat to print. You can print all of the labels in one batch at the end of the day if preferred
Tests
When you click on 'add' you will be presented with the Sample Type window. To add a 'test' click, for example, 'SPT'You will then be prompted to enter the start depth for the test. You can click 'ground level' for ground level
You can now add the casing depth and water level if required.
The SPT window will now appear. Enter the seating blows and then enter the test blows. DrillIt Logs will record how many blows you have entered! The image below shows a successful SPT under 50 blows
When you click 'update' the details of the test are calculated (ie the end depth) and you can then update the sheet. A 'D' sample will be automatically recorded and you will be prompted if you want to print the label.
If the SPT has a refusal, ie more than 50 blows, you will be prompted to enter the final refusal in mm. The final depth of the test is recalculated to that depth. Again, a 'D' sample will be automatically record and you will be prompted if you want to print the label.
U100/UT100
When you add a U100 or UT100 test, you will first be prompted to add the Start depth, the casing depth and water depth if any. You will then be prompted to enter the number of blows during the test and finally, the percentage recovered:
When you click 'update' the details of the test are calculated (ie the end depth) and you can then update the sheet. You will be prompted if you want to print the label. A 'D' sample will be automatically recorded for the sample captured in the shoe!
Plant Details
When you click on 'plant details' you will be presented with the Plant Details form
These details are saved so that they always appear after they have been initially entered.
Daily Plant Check
When you click on 'Daily Plant Check' from the main menu, you will be presented with the Daily Plant Check form
Click on the sheet to bring up the input window
These details are saved after initially inputted. Click 'Next' for the checks
Finally, enter any issues or maintenance required. The checks for each day are automatic as well as the initials. Finally, click update!
